From July to October 2018 VAFF will be running the “What’s Your INFUSIAN?” contest! During this period, watch our Instagram account for photos of our favorite VAFF team-selected and public submitted Asian INFUSIANS!
What qualifies for an Asian INFUSIAN? Basically: an artist, artwork, musician/band, business, restaurant, public or private figure/personality/celebrity, filmmaker, community, or place which authentically blends an Asian influence with other influences (such as modern technology, pop culture, other cultural influences, social causes, or other diverse inspirations) to create something new and vibrant.
If you’re able to name the INFUSIAN correctly, then you will be entered into a draw to win a pair of tickets to our annual festival, November 1-4, 2018 at the Cineplex Odeon International Village Cinemas! What’s more, you may submit your own photos that may be selected to be featured! By submitting your photo, you will be entered into a draw during October 2018 to win a Festival Pass (entrants are not eligible to guess the name of their own photo) at our November festival!
Want to submit your own photo to our contest? Send your photo to socialmedia@vaff.org or connect with us @vaffvancouver and post it on social media with the hashtags #VAFF2018 #INFUSIAN #WhatsYourINFUSIAN . Submit up to 10 entries during our contest period (one draw entry per person submitting), and feel free to include one or two sentences that describe why the image is your favorite INFUSIAN! You must have taken the photo yourself.

Ways to enter:
- Pay attention to our Instagram account @VAFFvancouver for What’s Your INFUSIAN photos between July and October 2018. Correctly guess the INFUSIAN in the photo and you’ll be entered into a draw to win a pair of tickets to our November festival.
- Enter your own photo to our contest from July 2nd to September 30th! Submit up to 10 photos of your favorite INFUSIANs during the contest period to socialmedia@vaff.org or connect with us @vaffvancouver and post it on social media with the hashtags #VAFF2018 #INFUSIAN #WhatsYourINFUSIAN , along with one to two sentences describing why the image is your favorite INFUSIAN , and your social media username/name that you’d like us to credit you by if your image is selected to be shared as part of our contest. During the month of October, we will draw one lucky photo from those received to receive a pair of VIP Festival Passes to our November festival!
Contest Rules & Regulations:
- Contestants must be Age 16+
- Participants may submit up to 10 photos between July 2nd and September 30, but will only receive one entry to the VIP Festival Pass draw per person.
- Photos submitted must be taken by the participant submitting and must not be copyrighted images used elsewhere. By submitting your photo, you allow VAFF to use the photo for the purposes of this contest and in promoting the festival. Subjects of the photos need not be Canadian or in Canada, but should not be so obscure that those in Canada cannot guess them.
Prizes:
- 10 pairs of tickets to our annual festival November 1-4, 2018 at the Cineplex Odeon International Village Cinemas (Drawn from all correct guesses on our INFUSIAN posts in October 2018)
- 1 pair of festival passes to the November festival (Drawn from all photo entry submissions in October 2018)
