In spite of the unprecedented changes and challenges we have to face due to CoVid-19, we did not want to cancel the competition this year, and therefore necessary changes need to be made to ensure the safety, and fun, for all participants.

1. Selected 8 Teams of 10 minute Short will receive $500 per team. Conditions apply.
2. This year only, Registration and Pitch Submission is $35 – 10 minute, $10 – 1 minute
   
3. There will be 10 minute Short and 1 minute Ultra Short categories 
4. The 1 minute Ultra Short category but will also go through an adjudication process based on a Written Pitch.
5. More awards will be given out for more categories.
6. Film Production must follow WorkSafeBC health & safety protocols strictly, and each Team must come up with their own COVID-19 Safety Plan for their teams with the help of the MAMM Producing team.
7. You must incorporate how you respond to the Creative Element “Past, Present, Possibilities“ into your video pitch.
8. The MAMMentorship program will be held in the form of Webinars. 
9. MAMM16 is going NATIONWIDE!  Any Canadian or Permanent Resident can lead a Team to enter from anywhere in the country.

– How to Turn MAMM into the Launch Pad to Your Career

Aaron Au, the Director of Production & Development at Brightlight Pictures, a MAMM 7 (2011) alumnus and one of our judges of MAMM this year will share insights to why he did MAMM and how he used it as an opportunity to further his film career. Learn some career-changing wisdom from Aaron to get the most out of this competition before submitting your MAMM Pitch or diving into making your Short! This invaluable talk will be followed by an Info Session with the MAMM Producing team where you’ll get an overview of MAMM16 and a chance to ask questions.

2. What is the role of Key Creative Members?

All key creative team members (e.g. Team Lead, Producer, Director, Writer, Cinematographer, Editor) and at least one (1) Lead Actor.

3. What is Visible Minority?

4. What will consider to disqualify?

• Any team that does not have at least one key creative member from a Visible Minority or of Asian/mixed Asian heritage, is disqualified.
• Any film found not to be created originally for MAMM will be disqualified and will not be screened.
• Any final films and required materials did not submit on the final time.
• Submitted films that are significantly different from the video pitch and submitted script, will be disqualified.
